The #CTBTcountdownchallenge requires two people to stand blindfolded facing each other while holding a cup of water. The cups represent a nuclear weapon. Within a 10 second countdown, as the pressure is increasing, both parties must decide whether they will nuke their partner.
The challenge emulates the security dilemma in a world there nuclear states are not legally constrained from testing nuclear weapons.
1. Stand ~1 meter from each other
2. Cover your eyes
3. Start a 10-second countdown
4. Before the timer hit zero, decide to “throw or not throw”
